She said this in an Interview at her roasted plantain shop Saturday, 10th February 2024 Mrs Phillips expressed some of her challenges when she started which include being pursue by KAI officers from one place to the other but she persisted. Talking about her achievement she said she has been able to sponsor her children's education. “I have achieved many things oo. I used it to train my children for school, I used it to feed them, I used it to feed myself. I use it to make myself feel happy. River State announces reopening schools date

Photo from Google   By Emmanuel Olorunsola The Rivers State Government has announced the reopening of universities, other tertiary institutions, as well as secondary and vocational schools in the state, with effect from Monday, October 5, 2020. This was disclosed by  Commissioner for Education  Prof. Kaniye Ebeku, while briefing journalists  on Friday. He said the council’s approval did not include primary schools. “The council approved that schools in the State reopen on the 5th of October, 2020, with only the following – all secondary schools in the state, vocational schools in the state, universities and other tertiary institutions. “For the avoidance of doubt, the council based on expert medical advice did not approve the reopening of primary schools in the state, which would await a new date in the future,” Ebeku stated. COVID-19: LAGOS STATE TO SHARE PALLIATIVES

Photo from Google By Emmanuel Olorunsola  Lagos State government has announced that it will commence distribution of 107,546 food palliative packs which were handed over to the state government by the Coalition Against COVID (CACOVID) for distribution to Lagosians. Governor Sanwo-Olu received the food items at the Lagos House, Alausa in the company of the deputy governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat; Chief of Staff (CoS), Mr Tayo Ayinde and the Acting Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya, among other state officials and representatives of CACOVID. The governor later distributed part of the items to some of the beneficiaries who were present at the ceremonial handover of the food palliatives. Speaking on behalf of the state government, the State Acting Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya, said the food items were meant for the indigent residents of the state and the elderly. ACCIDENT CLAIMS 23 LIVES IN KOGI

Photo from Google By Emmanuel Olorunsola The FCT Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Aliyu, condoled with the government and people of Kogi over the accident that claimed the lives of 30 people, most of them schoolchildren. Aliyu, on Wednesday, in a statement by her Special Assistant on Media, Mr Austine Elemue, expressed shock over the death of the victims, especially the school children. She expressed her sympathies to the government and people of Kogi, especially families of the victims of the inferno. “I pray that in this difficult time, the love of God will continue to protect our people,” she said. According to her, the tanker explosion as tragic while calling on the state to pray for the souls of the departed. The minister also called on the people, especially students of the Polytechnic, to remain calm and peaceful, stressing that the government was aware of the gravity of the situation.

SCHOOL REOPENING: UNICEF CONTRIBUTION
